How to Protect Your Family from the Winter Stomach Bug!

There are many bugs that tend to circulate through the winter months. But did you know that if your particular area has a warmer winter than usual that it can increase the risk of stomach viruses. Even if it has not been particularly warmer in your particular area you should still take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your family. The current winter bug is very similar to the stomach flu, but a little different. This particular stomach bug only tends to last a few hours and includes very violent vomiting, and diarrrhea. The first thing that you will need to do is make sure that you stock up on plenty of disinfectant, not just antibacterial cleaners. Many of us fail to take the time to actually read the labels on the cleaning products before we buy them. A disinfectant will kill about 99.9% of viruses in and around your home, this includes disinfectant sprays. You should also make sure that you disinfect your house on a daily basis. Most people tend to do their major housecleaning once a week, which is when they disinfect everything. But when you have children who go to school, and parents who go to work, you tend to bring germs into the house on a daily basis.

Another suggestion is to make sure that everyone in your house washes their hands thoroughly as soon as they come into the house. They should also avoid touching anything or anyone until they have done this. It may also be helpful to keep some type of disinfectant with you through the course of the day. You can keep it in your car or in your purse or pocket. If one member of your family does catch the winter stomach bug there will probably be a lot of vomiting,so stock up on the nessasary cleaning supplies. The reviews and ratings should be checked through the person for the availability of pills from My Pill App website. The dosage will be taken as per the prescription of the experts or doctors.

Immediately after someone vomits you should spray disinfectant into the air, clean the area with disinfectant, and wash your hands. Winter viruses are usually very easy to spread especially in places with large crowds. Make sure that anyone who shows any symptoms of having a virus is completely isolated from the rest of the family until at least two days after they have stopped vomiting. They are usually no longer contagious at this point but you will want to check with your family doctor for additional resources and information. You may also want to limit how many people you have over to your house during the winter time. Some people may appear to be healthy and fine, but may still be carrying the virus in their system, and can pass it on to you and your children. Remember that no one likes being sick, so make sure that you take the necessary precautions for your family now.

Cellular, Satellite, WiFi Internet – Which One is Right for You?

The easy answer is the Cheapest Service that fulfills your needs. The longer more complex questions are “What are your needs and which services and benefits come with either three Internet Choices”. Pay attention, because in 6 months what is available probably won’t look anything like what it is today and you may want to plan ahead so you won’t find yourself behind the technology jumps.

When looking for Internet service her in my local East Texas area we have a multiple choices and limits. These limits are determined by how much you can afford to pay for what you want or need and in what area you live in. For example; Even if I wanted High Speed Cable Internet that simply isn’t an option for me. I don’t live in an area where cable or traditional DSL will service. We live in a rural area outside of the city limit; some might call it the Boonies. So if you are like my family your options narrow down very quickly. That brings us to the topic of Cellular, Satellite or WiFi Internet for those of us who can’t get the first two options.

One of the first drawbacks is that because Cable and DSL still cater to the more dense areas of town they offer more competitive rates. Some companies such as Yahoo even offered DSL for at little as $12.95 per month – this was when some people were still paying over $20 for 56K dial up service. To get High Speed Internet when you aren’t in an area where Cable or DSL services you have to resign yourself to paying higher rates most of the time.

Now I’m not talking about if you are not interested in downloading music, movies, or watching news clips, TV Shows and such, if you are just wanting Internet Service to browse and shop then you might want to consider paying $5 bucks for a reliable 56K connection. If you want full access to the World Wide Web and all that it can offer that’s when you need to decide what High Speed Internet Service you want because any High Speed service will give you the ability to do fast and faster downloads and other high tech stuff.

The question becomes do you need that High Speed connections just at home, or do you need it at work but not at home or vise versa? Do you need it while you are traveling because you travel a lot? Do you need it while you are in your car, or just while you are at lunch?

Here is the run down; If you need High Speed Internet at your office or home and its just about downloads and quick page loads… Go with the cheapest most reliable High Speed Service that you can get. It’s all based on how fast you want to go, if 1GB is fast enough for you then why pay for more? Satellite and Cellular are both options (more expensive options) when your home or office isn’t in the more cost effective providers areas.

If you need High Speed Service while at lunch or on breaks, just make sure your Internet Service has wireless connection enabled and takes lunch at one of your local free Wi-Fi hot spots.

From here on it gets a little tricky. If you need a constant High Speed Internet connection while you are out and about, i.e. to keep an eye on your stocks, to monitor your business inventory, and to get the latest weather updates for travel etc. etc. then you have to dig a little deeper into what will fill the bill for you.

If you are traveling around town and you are in one of the new but few Mobile WiFi Internet coverage areas you may want to go with this service over Cellular Internet service for the same reason as before – Starting at around $29.95 per month, it’s simply more cost effective than Cellular Internet and it still gets you what you want. You’ll be able to stay abreast of all your Internet related ventures and can react in High Speed time. Because it is mobile you can bring your home to work, your work to home or transform your thought pattern either way while on the Internet as you make your way across town.

If you are traveling cross-country often business or so-such, or if you are not in an area where the new Mobile WiFi Internet has reached so you can have access while you move about your local area, then you probably should consider the most expensive and most limiting option which is Cellular Internet Service. The benefit with Cellular is that you literally can go anywhere in the continental United States and be connected and keep a pulse on all of your related Internet needs. It can cost over $100 per month depending on which carrier you choose, but if it fills your needs and your better off with it than without it, Cellular Internet Service would be the way to go.

Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

If you’re considering plastic surgery, it’s important to carefully consider your choice of surgeon. Researching your doctor’s background and experience, and making sure you can easily communicate with him or her, can greatly increase your chances of having satisfactory results from your surgery.

Most plastic surgeons have a good deal of information on their websites, which can be useful in paring your list down to a few promising choices.

The first thing to look for on a plastic surgeon’s website is board certification. A board certified surgeon has undergone additional training specifically in plastic surgery, as well as periodic evaluation and testing to maintain certification. The requirements of board certification ensure the surgeon is that much more qualified to handle your surgery.

Also look to see if the surgeon specializes in the procedure you wish to have done. Different plastic surgeons tend to favor one procedure over others, whether it’s breast augmentations, tummy tucks, or facial procedures. The more experience a surgeon has had in your chosen procedure, the more likely you are to achieve a satisfactory result.

Most plastic surgeons will feature before and after pictures of surgeries they’ve performed on their websites, as well. By looking at these pictures, you can get a good idea of how a particular surgeon works, and if their approach meets your expectations of what you wish to achieve from your surgery. Patient testimonials are also often featured, giving an idea about how a doctor communicates with his patients.

Once you’ve narrowed your search down, many surgeons offer free consultations, during which you can discuss your surgery and decide if the doctor’s communication style works for you. Because plastic surgery is such a personal and often delicate matter to discuss, being comfortable talking to your doctor is vital.

During your consultation, ask as many questions as you can think of to clarify the doctor’s policies, approach, and even financing options. The more questions you can ask ahead of time, the more prepared you’ll be for the surgery when the time comes. Your doctor should be receptive to what you have to say, as well, and listen to your specific needs rather than trying to steer you toward one decision or another regarding your surgery.

While cost obviously can be a consideration in choosing a doctor, it shouldn’t be the only consideration. A good relationship with your doctor, and being sure he’s qualified and experienced, are much more important than a good price. If you choose an inexpensive surgeon just because of the lower price, you might end up in a “you get what you pay for” situation, and end up spending even more money correcting the initial surgery in order to achieve the results you wanted in the first place.

Taking the extra time to research before committing to plastic surgery will prove more than worth your while in the long run, so be sure to do your homework, and you’re likely to be much happier with your final results.

Car Insurance Companies, I Hate You

Car insurance can kiss my grits. I’ve been through two wrecks, neither am I in the wrong. Both cars are scrap metal. What does my insurance do? They give information about the other driver and just basically tell me good luck. Happy hunting. Car insurance only helps you if you are in the wrong. I think this is complete bull. So I’m paying out about four hundred dollars for some insurance yo-yo to give me the same information I received at the scene of the accident. Am I crazy? Why am I paying these people? And no, I am not the type of person to call in the lawyer. To me that seems trashy and neck collars don’t look good on me anyway. I just want what’s owed to me.

My first accident, I was driving a ’91 Mercury Sable. This was before they went compact. I could fit 4 and half people in my trunk. Well, small people. My car insurance, Progressive. I was at a dead stop, and then, rear-ended by a Crown Victoria. My trunk was in my back seat. Yeah this car was cruising at a 40 miles per hour. To make this short, I had to go to physical therapy, for about five months. I could not work, because of actual whiplash. I get so mad when people say they have that when they don’t. Whiplash is when you don’t even want to turn you eyes to the left or right because the pain is excruciating. So when people say they have that while being able to move their heads from side to side, I say this with an extended finger, ” Up yours!” I digress, well it was lovely juggling the hospital bills and physical therapy payments. I had to keep track of all the receipts and send them off to my insurance and also to the other guy’s insurance. Progressive, hey, help a sister out here.

I was offered a rental car for two weeks, but I had to get within a certain time limit. So I’m seriously injured, can’t really drive just yet, but if I need a car I had to get it on their terms. I mean really, this is just absurd. My car was turned into a Volvo. I can barely walk around without looking like Frankenstein’s monster. And I have no upfront money to purchase a new car. What do these idiots expect you to do? I hate these people!

I was paid for my lost wages. Thank God. But the other guy’s insurance company sent a couple of spies (investigators, whatever you want to call these worms) to make sure I was the real McCoy. I mean by that I was really hurt. They would actually drive to my house for some bogus excuse to see if I’m really laid up. Of course when I answer the door, they have the shark tooth smile on their faces. “Oh, you’re walking around? So you’re feeling better?”

“You rang the doorbell, didn’t you? How else would I answer the damn door.”
They would drive by my work as well. Oh, I’m getting mad all over again. And this happen about 9 years ago.

And what does my car insurance do for me in my moment of need? Nothing. They just ask when will I finish turning in my receipts.

So Louisiana state law: You must have car insurance.

So Claire Bankston’s law: Phooey on car insurance companies. And their moms! That goes double for Progressive!

Can You Be Romantic When You or Your Partner Has Ulcerative Colitis?

I have been with my fiancé for more than five years. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis four years ago. Needless to say, there has been some overlap in my relationship with my husband-to-be and my relationship with IBD. It has been a long road, and my ulcerative colitis has not always allowed it to be an easy one.

When I first started having the inevitable digestive problems associated with UC, I wasn’t sure what was going on. I figured I didn’t feel well, and went on with my life as best I could. After a few months, my sole concern at seventeen years old was hiding what was happening to me from everyone. Especially my boyfriend of a year. We were comfortable around each other, we could be ourselves around one another and we knew that we were in love. But, I assumed that if he knew the terrible things that happened to me in the bathroom that he would be disgusted and leave. I couldn’t think about the situation rationally, and understand that any young man who would leave me over an uncontrollable condition was not someone that I actually wanted to be with anyway. I could only force terrible pain on myself by trying to avoid displaying any symptoms while over at his place or out on a date. It finally got to a point that I couldn’t keep what was going on from him anymore. I was leaving his house earlier than I actually intended too, trying to get home as fast as I could in order to preserve my dignity. I hurried goodbyes, and was inattentive during my most painful moments. I decided to come clean.

He was perfect. He was a little miffed that I hadn’t just explained sooner (as he thought I was being distant with my early departures and the like), but being open and honest about what was happening to me actually made us both closer. Trust deepened, and our level of comfort did, too.

I am still embarrassed about the constant diarrhea and the rancid smells that sometimes accompany my condition, but our key to keeping the romance alive is our sense of humor. He pokes fun at me a bit about it, and it alleviates the tension. I know he knows what I am going through, and he doesn’t let me hide and be embarrassed about something we both know is out of my hands.

Of course, I still want to spare him the details as much as I can. Our bathroom is certainly always stocked with air freshener, which I am sure to use liberally as the occasion calls for it. The fan in the bathroom is always on, and I sometimes turn on the tap for noise control if I feel it necessary. I always carry perfume with me to make sure I feel fresh wherever we are, and I make sure that I am eating especially well when I know we are going to engage in especially romantic activities to avoid breaking the mood.

Ultimately, our relationship is based on trust and openness, and I know that he loves me no matter what. That is the most romantic thing, knowing that I am loved and cared for regardless of my digestive issues.

Best Free WiFi Hotpots in Downtown Kansas City

If you’re a business person on the go, chances are you may need to access the internet while you are away from your office and your smart phone just won’t get the job done. Or you might be live in the downtown area or just be passing through and would like to plug up your laptop and surf the web at no charge. Either way, the convenience of free WiFi in public areas can be a livesaver. The following is a list of locations downtown and in the Crown Center and Plaza areas that offer free wireless internet access.

Union Station Kansas City

30 West Pershing
Kansas City, MO, 64108

Union station is a great option for accessing WiFi. It is conveniently located about halfway between downtown and the Plaza, close to Crown Center. There aren’t many places to sit and work, but the scenery in the nostalgic train station make up for that.

Crown Center Food Court

2450 Grand Avenue
Kansas City, MO, 64106
(816) 274-8444

Crown Center is a shopping center with a number of boutiques and specialty stores. It’s located just south of downtown. Parking is free if you get your parking ticket validated at one of the merchants inside. However if you’re not shopping or eating and just need to use the internet, you will end up paying a small parking fee. The rates depend on how long you’re parked in the garage.

3255 Main Street
Kansas City, MO
(816) 753-3840

3741 Broadway St
Kansas City, MO
(816) 931-4440

Everyone probably knows what to expect at a McDonald’s restaurant, so not much to explain here. I will say that one convenient aspect is that you can hop on wireless from the parking lot. If you’re on the go and need to quickly access the internet, you can do so without leaving the comfort of your car!

Panera Bread

2405 Grand Blvd
Kansas City, MO 64108
(816) 221-0810

4117 Mill Street
Kansas City, MO
(816) 960-1970

While the wireless service is free, you should expect to buy something to eat. It’s unlikely the owners and staff will allow you to park it for free without making a purchase. But there is no charge for the Wifi service itself. Hours of operation are Mon-Sat 6am-7:30pm and Sun 8am-7:30pm.

Mr. Goodcents

3037 Main Street
Kansas City, MO, 64108

Mr. Goodcents is a nice casual option for accessing the internet. You can pick up a great sub sandwich while surfing the net. If you haven’t had Mr. Goodcents before, stopping in to use the internet would be a great time to try it out. They definitely give that other sub shop a run for their money!

O’Dowd’s Little Dublin

4742 Pennsylvania Ave
Kansas City, MO, 64111

O’Dowds is a bar/pub type of atmosphere. Probably not the best place to get some work done, but a great option if you need wireless access on your smart phone or need to check your email while having an ale.

OurSpots – Kansas City Plaza

Country Club Plaza
Kansas City, MO, 64111

I do not have personal experience with this location, but it does offer free WiFi. It’s located on The Plaza.

Subway Sandwiches and Salads

327 East 11th Street
Kansas City, MO, 64106

Subway is another option for food chain restaurants with Internet access for its customers. Again you’ll likely need to place a food order to cop a squat and use the WiFi in this location.

City Market Coffee House

305 Main Street
Kansas City, MO, 64105

This is the only option listed that’s North of downtown. At 3rd and Main, it is located right in Kansas City’s River Market area.

Auto Repair

Auto maintenance can be expensive. And many times it’s the little items, which really cost money. Larger purchases, such as tires, drivers only buy once every five or six years. To save money, here are a few items you can do yourself.

Change Oil

Experts say the most important maintenance item for automobile owners is changing the engine oil. This reduces wear, improves performance, and adds longevity to your motor. Most cars require a mere four quarts of oil and a filter. The job is an easy one, although can be messy if you’re not careful. It’s best to invest in jack stands (around $25) or a hydraulic floor jack ($200) as a one-time investment. Basically, you jack the car up (Caution: always set the parking brake and block the wheels), re-enforce it with jack stands, remove the oil filter, drain the old oil, install the new filter, and add the new oil. Remember to recycle the old oil properly. Savings are about $30 dollars each oil change. With three or four oil changes a year, the savings quickly add up.

Rotate the Tires

Rotating your own tires increases longevity and allows for even wear on all four. As with changing the oil, it’s best to use jack stands and/or a hydraulic jack. Follow the change pattern in your owner’s manual. Savings are about $20 per tire rotation.

Change the Air Filter

Many garages charge as much as $40 plus the cost of the filter just to install a new air filter. You can purchase a new air filter on sale for as little as $5 (garage cost: $18 and up). Installing it yourself requires removing a couple of fasteners, wiping out the air filter housing, and installing the new filter. Done.

Change Windshield Wiper Blades

Here’s another simple job. Purchase the correct blades for your car and follow the directions on the package. Repair shops charge as much as $20 to install, plus the price of the blades ($20-25 average price from a shop).

Install New Battery

You can tell when it’s getting to the point when you need a new battery. Your car starts slower and sounds different. If you suspect your battery will require replacement soon, take it to an auto supply shop where the personnel will test it free (of course, they would like to sell you a new battery but you don’t have to buy one). Installation often only requires unfastening a couple of bolts, removing the old battery and installing the new one.

Washing Your Vehicle

This is a no-brainer, but you can pay up to $20 just to have the outside of your car cleaned and another $20 for cleaning the inside. Buy a bottle of good-quality car wash for about $5 and wash the exterior yourself. On the inside, clean the vinyl, glass, and mirrors, then vacuum the upholstery, carpeting, and floor mats. You will be surprised how good your car looks, most likely much better than having someone else do the job.

Atlanta Go Wireless, Hope To Follow Philadelphia’s Trend For Wifi Citywide

With Philadelphia going wireless, some have started wondering if it will next be Atlanta’s turn. The question also remains as to why EarthLink, an Atlanta-based company, is providing Philadelphia wireless service before it does Atlanta.

When citywide wireless Internet access hits Philadelphia in 2007, other larger cities may consider also going wireless. It depends on whether or not Philadelphia’s multi-million dollar experiment is successful.

Why EarthLink decided to provide its services to Philadelphia and not to Atlanta is simple: Atlanta did not ask. While there may later be plans for citywide wireless access all over Atlanta (since other major cities are considering the project), Philadelphia is the first to take on the major task of trying it out. Philly simply picked EarthLink because it thought it was the best company to provide internet access.

Atlantans in general are going wireless. Not only is there wire-free internet access provided all over Georgia State’s campus, over 80 business locations, including endless Starbucks’, offer free wireless internet connections.

The technology is simple: customers bring their laptops to the business of choice, open their network connection options on their computers and choose the wireless option available. Once connected, users can generally use the internet as they would at home, being able to surf the web, download files onto their computers and use chat rooms.

College students are also able to use the Internet on campuses all over Atlanta. From GeorgiaState to smaller schools like OglethorpeUniversity, students are able to log on almost anywhere.

“As a commuter student, (wireless is) the only form of the Internet I use,” said Oglethorpe University Junior Brandon Rhodes. “It’s an inconvenience at this point to switch over to an in-house terminal.”

There are often problems associated with wireless Internet at first, including setting and maintaining passwords onto a network and maintaining an active internet connection. Many GeorgiaState students frequently find that their connection to CatChat, State’s network, lacks strength and disconnects. This problem is especially prevalent at the smaller schools that often have bandwidth problems and are not used to the issues associated with wireless access.

“At Oglethorpe, they had a couple kinks to work out with the service at first, since it was something new the school was testing,” said Rhodes. “Now, it works great, though, and I love it that my school has finally joined the 21st Century.”

Wi-Fi technology was developed in 1991 for cashier systems, according to Wikipedia.com. Meant for local area networks, especially those associated personal digital assistants, wireless Internet has been gaining popularity in recent years.

Smaller towns have started acquiring widespread wireless access, and the near future seems to indicate that bigger cities will continue the trend. Philadelphia is only the start, and it is possible that Atlanta may follow in the city’s footsteps. Only time will tell, but the Atlantans who currently congregate at Starbucks’ all over the city will rejoice if their city ever makes the wireless leap.

Argo Online: Defender Class PVP Tank Build Guide

This guide will help you build your Defender class into a PVP based tank. You might notice that when starting out you will be a lot weaker than the Sagittarius, Rogue, and Taurus classes, but that will all change in time if you choose the proper skill set. You can only use a total of 50 points so you can’t afford to throw points into every single skill you want. You won’t be able to add points to the skills you need at low levels because of the level requirement, so keep in mind that you may need to use a skill reset item when you reach level 50.

For the most part you will need skills that do AOE damage or raise your defense and health points. Skills that provoke enemies are useless because most of your AOE skills automatically do that for you, and they also don’t work in PVP. This guide will help you find a basic, yet powerful PVP build, but don’t be afraid to experiment with other skills, because every skill is useful if used correctly.

An Overview On Liquor Liability Insurance

Liquor liability insurance insures against loss or damage originated by an intoxicated person, who causes bodily injuries or property damages as a result of liquor served in a business. Typically, businesses that manufacture, sell, serve, or facilitate any use or purchase of alcohol, need this type of insurance policy.

Liquor liability insurance is not included in the standard liability policy and therefore it should be purchased separately. Because it covers a business’s exposure to a person’s injury, assault, battery or even death as well as to property damages, the coverage is expensive. However, the insurance premium is calculated based on the location of the business. Insurance companies estimate that only 35% of the businesses that need to have liquor liability insurance actually have this policy. This is attributed to exclusions that are continually added to insurance contracts by the insurers and repel business owners from purchasing the coverage considering it as having no value.

The coverage purchased is determined by the special circumstances that the liquor is served in each business. In other words, the coverage needed depends on the exposure of the business. In particular:

– Host Liquor Liability: this provision provides coverage against bodily injuries or property damages from lawsuits by third parties injured by an intoxicated person who was served alcohol at an event hosted at a particular business. Typically, host liquor liability is included in commercial liability for businesses that do not serve, manufacture, distribute, sell, or provide alcohol.

– Liquor Legal Liability: this provision provides coverage against bodily injuries or property damages for which the business owner may become legally accountable for contributing to a person’s intoxication. This policy is not included in the general liability policy and is always purchased separately covering any business that serves, manufactures, distributes, sells, or provides alcohol for charge or no charge if a license is required for the specific event.

The point for any business is to be able to control the exposure. If an event is hosted and the host has a liquor permit for the specific event, then by default the business belongs to the businesses that serve, manufacture, distribute, sell, or provide alcohol. If an event is hosted and a fee is charged for alcohol, then by default it belongs to the businesses that serve, manufacture, distribute, sell, or provide alcohol.

Although it sounds straightforward, still the line between host liquor liability liquor legal liabilities is blurry. The best solution for business owners is to ask for advice fro their insurance professionals before hosting the event so as to avoid solving the issue in the court.
